The Nursing Program Course Sequence is as follows:

·         Health Technology Careers (11 - 12th Grades)

·         Nursing Services (11 - 12th Grades)

Health Technology Careers - Reverse Credit Course - Cochise College HLT 100

Requirements:  11th -12th Grade             

One Semester Course:  .5 Credit BHS - 5 Credits Cochise College               

Course Prerequisite:      Business & Technology 1             

Degree of Difficulty:       Average              

An introduction to health careers including basic information such as ethics, professional conduct, infection control, safety, communication and job skills. Some hands-on skills will be taught and some class time will be spent in specialty areas of a health care facility and/or public health agency. Students taking this course must be enrolled for reverse-credit course with Cochise College.

               

Nursing Services - (Reverse Credit Course - Cochise College HLT 109)

Requirements:  11th –12th Grade            

One Semester Course:  .5 Credit BHS - 5 Credits Cochise College               

Course Prerequisite:

Health Technology Careers         

Degree of Difficulty:       High                       

This course is designed to prepare prospective medical field students to successfully complete the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) State Certification. College credit is given for this course in cooperation with Cochise College and Cochise County Tech Prep. Cochise County Tech Prep currently provides one-half the tuition rate while the student is responsible for the remaining one-half cost. Students are required to participate in clinical sessions that will be scheduled outside of the regular school day. Arrangements must be made to participate in the required sessions. Students taking this course must be enrolled for reverse-credit course with Cochise College.
